Engagement Photography in Blandford Forum, Dorset - Louise and Dave
Ahead of Dave and Louise's wedding at the langton arms in september we met up to do an engagement shoot. We chose a location special to Dave and Louise for the photography on this eshoot. Dave even cleaned the tractor specially. We had great fun on this shoot and I love the images we got. I can't wait to photograph the wedding!
Look forward to seeing you on the day guys!
Blandford Forum Wedding Photographer - Langton Arms
I recently photographed a local wedding, just up the road from me in fact, starting at witchampton (where my daughter will be going to school) and then later at my local wedding venue the langton arms in tarrant monkton.
Laura had bought a dress from the Cancer Research shop in Poole (more on that later).
The day started with some rain (lots of rain actually) - and I went to meet Laura at her parents house in Witchampton (what a fabulous little village - like a lot of places in Dorset). Here when I arrived I found the dress all hanging up ready for me.

Then I proceeded to capture some of the little details.

I loved how the shoes sat here waiting for the bridesmaids in matching royal blue.

with a quick drink of the champagne it was off to the church!

I borrowed the rings off the best man and hung them on the handy ring stand I found nearby.

Then I was back just in time to catch the bride arriving.

The Bridesmaids found something amusing (I checked and i was clothed so it wasn't that)

I like it when the bride is ready to go - it lets me capture some of the anticipation of a wedding, the moment before the bride enters is full of promise and excitement

and finally they are man and wife and you can tell how happy they are in this one (I hope)

Then we went off to the gate near witchampton for some bride and groom images - this is always one of my favourite parts of the day and both Laura and John were awesome during this time - completely open to messing around and having some fun.

then we were back to the reception at the Langton arms, where I captured some candid images of the guests, including children and other guests.

Then when you see such a great fingers cake you just have to take a nibble (just kidding)

and some lovely seeds that were given out to their guests.

and the recieving line always gets great expressions

and the speeches can be embrassasing for some....

and the best mans speech wasn't bad.

and then the emotion from the afterwards

and from the best man.

and then it was the time for the dance...

and in colour

and a rolling pin

and some fun for the guests!

Lulworth Castle, Unobtrustive Relaxed Dorset Wedding Photographer
I love second shooting and this time I was helping out Tim Churchill for a wedding at lulworth castle. I've never been there before and i didn't realise just how awesome a venue it is (I guess a castle in the name gives it away?) anyway the ceremony was at the local church of st peters (on the grounds of the castle and i am sure there is some history there)

Now for a brief interlude for the cake - it looked super scrummy and i loved the colours and decoration and also the bees!

Now this wedding had it's own excitement due to "timings". Here you can see the best man going for a leisurely sprint to get the rings from the car (probably)

and the bridesmaids wondering where the bridal party/best man are.

Now of course as tends to happen everything smooths itself out. So here we have the father of the bride saying "farewell" to his daughter.

before the ceremony the bride and father had a spontaneous mexican wave (not really)

Now inside the church the bride and father take a moment to reflect before the marriage ceremony proper.

and of course it's nice to get a perspective from the back of the church with a looooooooooong lens....

It wasn't until afterwards that i fully appreciated the view, and WOW! what a view the castle gives!

And what awesome entertainment they had! The piano was wheeled out and David Wade pianist and entertainer extraordinare gave some awesome renditions of popular songs!

All whilst the guard toy kept watch (and immaculately dressed he was too)

It's strange how people react to being photographed - sometimes it's a little warily - sometimes it's with great mirth (i prefer the mirth)

The bride had arranged some strawberry daiquiri's to be served - and i loved the pattern and the contrast between the red and green! (and i'd imagine they tasted awesome but i can't comment for legal reasons ;) )

Here we see the bride and her friends enjoying a small tipple of the the said strawberry drink - what a great choice on a hot day!
you've got to love kids at weddings - i've got 2 myself and i love how they just enjoy themselves and look really cute in their wedding finery
i'm wondering here why he's slapping his head .... answers on a postcard please - and maybe there will be a prize?
and here we can see the bride just having one more drink.... though I think she deserves it... it is her wedding day after all!

now i love wedding cars, and seeing all 3 parked up against such an awesome vista i couldn't help but take this one.... reminds me of top gear (without the explosions or elderly men).
Here we have the statesman like tim churchill showing how to get a bit of extra height on your wedding groups without the need for a ladder! top job tim!

now it was time for the wedding breakfast so obviously time to blow bubbles.

and to laugh....

and finally one of your's truly taken by tim churchill.

what a great day! I love wedding photography and thanks to tim for having me along - loved every second of it dude.... and don't mention the fish! hahaha!
Lyme Regis Wedding Photography - Polly and Tom
What a summer we're having (finally!) For those that follow the blog you may have seen the sneak peak of this wedding a few weeks back! So here I am back to blog the rest of it now the bride and groom have seen their wedding photographs.
Wow! it really was scorchio this day! and what an awesome sunset we had for the bride and groom portraits! Thanks to howard lucas for ferrying us to the seafront too!
Tom and Polly were getting ready in the same hotel on different floors so this gave me the rare opportunity to capture both sets of preparations which was super cool - it really helps tell the story from the wedding day.
So the day started with a bottle of champagne on ice...
and of course what wedding can be without a fabulous rock from Tiffany and Co.?

Then it was time for some touching up of the Pollys bridal makeup..

and the bridesmaids all insisted on having their photograph taken (you know how it is! :) )

Then it was time to quickly nip downstairs (or was it upstairs?) to Toms room and catch him shaving (I love shaving shots!)

we then headed off to the church and I casually posed the boys like pins in a bowling alley.....

luckily that was just in time when the gorgeous Polly bowled into the church with her father - looking AMAZING in her wedding dress!

before you knew it the ceremony was over and it was time for the reception in the nearby (next door!) church wardens gardens - Tom here is saying - "it was THIIIIS big". Then after some posed groups we went onto the reception venue (alexandra hotel).

Polly was loving the weather and wasn't too shy for the camera either as you can see here.

some time passed. some people ate... and it was time for the speeches... which although i can't reveal too much were highly amusing....

the best man did a bang up job - firstly with some amusing quotes from the bride Polly (*may not be true and used for comedy purposes only....)

and then presenting Tom with an apparently unwanted norwich shirt... so i'm not sure which was worse there?! :)

Then after dinner and speeches it was off to the seafront - which we were blessed with SUPER AWESOME WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY LIGHT(TM)

then i noticed the AWESOME sunset and the colours (or colors if you're american :)) so i posed Tom and Polly and took the next image....

now it was time to let our hair down and let the evening dancing start...
here Tom and Polly tore up the dance floor.

and again they showed they could really bust a move on the dance floor.

What a thoroughly entertaining day it was - fully of emotion and amazing moments. Made all the more special by the people on the day!
I wish you all the best for the future guys! and don't forget I also do maternity and baby photography :)
Dorset pre wedding photoshoot at upton house with Lucy and Richard
I met up with Lucy and Richard at Upton House, near Poole in Dorset for an engagement / pre wedding shoot. It was 10:30am and already it was a scorcher, so after messing around on the lawn for a bit we went into the shade and saw these little ducks in the water!

Can't wait to photograph the wedding which is at Kingson Maurward near Dorchester in Dorset, so stay tuned for that! On with the show as I know Lucy is dying to see them!
I am a Photographer - a Dorset wedding photographer
I recently went up and met Jay McLaughlin, Jay is a fab commercial and editorial portrait photographer and I had a fab time talking about photography and general rubbish. Best of all we even went to the pub for some food afterwards (nomnomnom)! So check it out on iamphotographer.org
Hampshire wedding photography - sneak peek - Adrian and Twinkie
I was lucky enough to be invited to do the wedding photography Adrian and Twinkie. Well I say wedding, it was technically a blessing with their original wedding being last year in september. So with the sun shining it was an awesome day.
Adrian and Twinkie are planning on their honeymoon in Japan - so have a great time guys, in the meantime here is a sneak peek of their wedding photography - particularly this is something one of the children drew that i saw as I was leaving so got my video light out!

New Forest EShoot with Kayhan and Vicky
I met up with Kayhan and Vicky (who's wedding i'm photographing at parley manor later this year) at a secret new forest location (well it's not really secret it's just hard to find - and it's near emery down :) )
I love this location as it's got a nice mix of styles, and lets me do lots of different looks. Each time i go back it's a little bit different, this time we found an upturned tree which I was able to convince them both to climb for some different engagement photographs.
See you soon!
And onto the photos!
Bournemouth Beach Fun Wedding Photography - sneak peek for Simon and Kate
Here's a sneak peek from today's wedding photography with Simon and Kate, once again we managed to get down Bournemouth pier (well boscombe) - and it was largely deserted (I prefer desserted but i'm told that's not the right spelling). Today was an awesome day for a wedding photographer. The weather was great with special photographer clouds dabbed in for effect.
Here's one from the beach!
More upon your return guys! have a great honeymoon and thanks for making me feel so welcome!
Here are the suppliers from today - well recommended - awesome ice-creams, fabulous transport, and great venue. Top marks!

England at the world cup
Now I'm not normally a football fan - but - the world cup is special - I had a wedding last weekend when England played and another wedding tomorrow in bournemouth (though the groom tells me he might have a big screen to watch the games on ) - even though england aren't playing.
So in honour of england here's a couple of photos from a recent event (one for the ladies and one for the gents) I covered for Solent Studios.
Photoparlour Bristol G2G shoot
Today saw some sunny weather and a trip to Sunny Brizzle for the inaugural (i think that's how you spell it!) Photography Parlour G2G (get together) - turning up fashionably late I was made Red Team leader (in my head at least) - so it was straight into the shooting with the lovely Siobhan.
So here's a couple of shots from that set:
Then is was time for a snack (and to see the super awesome layout at the captains table (no mssrs birdseye to be seen!)
Then is was a short break and back out for the route march to the other side of the tracks (thanks everyone to not lynching me for the loonnnng walk) - where a couple of people got to play with my PocketWizard FlexTTs. So here's a couple of the lovely Charl (I think that's right).
Then it was back to mission control - AKA the floating palace - AKA a boat where one of the girls started playing the piano
Then we were back out once more - I decided to take us the opposite direction spotting some interesting colours - starting with blue....
Then we headed back to boat where we gave Rosie Parsons a big cheer and headed off to get home / drink / go out for food.
Thanks to Rosie from Photography Parlour - keep your eyes peeled for other G2G shoots and also there will be a flickr group where you can see other peoples (and the rest of mine) - so keep checking back.
Also if you were wondering here's my article on the site -> Greg from TP Photography - stay tuned for more articles
